Home Learning from January 5th 2021
Home Learning will now take place through Google Classroom.
Your child will have usually 4 activities to do each day that matches their normal curriculum subjects. They will be set by the teachers that usually teach them the subjects e.g. PE - Mrs. Cousin, Science - Miss Lowthian etc.
Please contact us if you have any difficulties at all regarding Home Learning as we are always happy to help.
You will receive your home learning via email every week on a Sunday ready to start on the Monday.
You will also be able to access the home learning through this page.
We wanted to make it as easy as possible for you so the only requirements are a device with a screen or laptop; there should be NO NEED TO PRINT ANYTHING. We just ask that children work in the books (Y2-Y6) or Paper (Rec/Y1) that we provided in the orginial pack.
For KS2 children, it should be possible for the child to do their weekly activities with minimal supervision (just checking in now and again). For Rec/KS1, children may need more support initially but again should be able to complete most tasks independently.
With the home learning, there's a detailed letter making suggestions about having a routine which we know has really helped many families e.g. doing English at 9.30 - 10.15 am etc. But we also know that this may not work in some households and that you will find your own best ways of tackling it. Each family will be very unique and have their own issues and we just want to support and help you during this time.
Before the end of the week, your class teachers will give you a call and it will be Mrs Cousin phoning in class 2. This will be an opportunity to share any queries or concerns about home learning and for us to support you in anyway that we can.
Please feel free to email Ruth (or other staff) anytime and we will do our best to get back to you.
The home learning is NOT designed to put pressure on families or cause difficulties for you - it is to help give you and them some structure and keep up your child's skills over this period of time.
Thank you for your support.
