Physical Education

Physical Education

Bolton Primary school values PE highly and feel that early positive experiences in Physical Education are crucial to promoting a long term love of being active and healthy. Subject areas that your child will cover will include gymnastic skills, creative movement and dance, games skills leading to minor and major games, and athletics. * The whole school will have the opportunity to participate in swimming lessons at the nearby swimming pool at Appleby. We aim to encourage your child to enjoy and succeed in the whole range of activities offered to them and that we promote a belief that individual and non-competitive exercise is as valuable as inclusion in team sports and competitions. We also appreciate that winning and losing are aspects of sport and life that children need to learn to deal with in a fair and acceptable manner. In our teaching of PE, we therefore aim not only to encourage your child's physical development but also to ensure that they develop an appreciation of the importance of these life skills and understand the responsibility and expectations held about representing their school.  For more information on the Sports Premium click below. The school employs a specialist teacher to co-ordinate this subject area and uses other specialist teachers and coaches. We aim to provide regular after school experiences/ clubs in a range of sports and activities that we cannot always include in the curriculum and may encourage new interests and future participation.
